Anthelios Sunscreen - European Solutions for Your Skin

Anthelios sunscreen, a LaRoche product, is known all over Europe as one of the best sunscreens available. It contains Mexoryl, a superior UVA/UVB protection, and comes in a wide variety of formulations: sprays, gels, and milk-based creams. It's been described as having an elegant texture, and it is silky and easily absorbed even when applied to oily skin. Because this sunscreen does not dry to a matte texture, it's also good for dry skin. Most versions of Anthelios include an excellent skin moisturizer.

Anthelios Fluid Extreme is particularly light, perfect for oily skin. It comes with SPF up to 60. It blocks most of the UV-A and has a great texture that spreads fluidly without being sticky. Some dermatologists recommend it for melasma as well. The gel and lait, or milk, formulations are a little thicker and greasier and not good for skin that is oily, but it is excellent for drier skin textures.

Makeup goes on over most Anthelios products, especially the light-textured ones. And for particularly dry skin, Anthelios makes an after-sun product that does a wonderful job of moisturizing sun-dried skin.

These sun protection products are difficult to find in the United States, but there are a number of websites that sell them, as well as some good Ebay vendors who auction them off for fair prices. As Anthelios is a European product and the American dollar is weak against the Euro right now, expect to pay a little more for these than you would for products made in America. But it may be worth it to have a product that finally works properly on your skin.
