Commercial Tanning Equipment: Tanning Options

When most people think of commercial tanning equipment, they think of tanning beds, where a client lays down on an acrylic surface and then has a top closed over them. It may remind some people of lying in a glowing coffin. The whole experience can be a bit claustrophobic. Fortunately, other options are available to tanners.

Tanning booths allow clients to stand up to tan. Lights are placed at strategic angles around them, and it usually proves to provide a more even tan than with tanning beds, which are prone to leaving streaks.

Spray on tans require only one visit and are done while standing up in a mist spraying both. Where a tanning booth or bed may take several 12 to 20 minute sessions before seeing results, spray on tans can be done in one session in less than 10 minutes.

Commercial tanning beds and booths work best when they are kept in good operating condition, kept in sanitary condition, and the bulbs are replaced at regular intervals. Spray on tanning booths does not require special lighting, but salon owners are still faced with cleaning up and keeping the nozzles in good working condition.

While indoor tanners have the option of purchasing professional tanning beds or the less expensive beds designed for home use, professional tanning salons find it is to their advantage to buy beds specifically design for the high traffic use of a tanning salon.

Commercial tanning beds offer tanners a viable option for keeping a golden tan without having to rely on the unpredictability of the sun's rays. And now, professional salons have a selection of tanning equipment options for the clients to choose from.
