Airbrush Tanning Machines Produce Great Results Without Ultraviolet Dangers.

When you're trying to get a great-looking tan, all the talk about the dangers of ultraviolet light, even from tanning machines, can be scary. Especially if you have very light skin, you might want to use airbrush tanning machines to get your tan instead.

These machines actually spray a tanning dye onto your skin, which adheres to the dead outer layer of your skin. Even better, many of them also are impregnated with a chemical, which stimulates the melanin-producing cells of your skin, helping you jump-start a great tan without putting your skin at risk of ultraviolet damage. To keep the tan fresh, have a new treatment about once per week.

Airbrush tans can be applied via two basic methods. The first involves either canned spray-on lotions or lotions that are forced out through an air compressor. This method only dyes a part of your body at a time, and unless applied by a trained professional, can result in rather streaky results.

The other method is a misting booth. These booths apply an airbrush solution via misters located up and down the sides of the booth, and the dyes are sprayed on evenly over the surface of your entire body. If you use a misting booth to apply your tan, you may want to cover your hair with a disposable bathing cap, but the solution does wash out. You should ask the attendant whether your nails need to be covered so that they don't get a "tan" as well. You can use misting booths nude or wearing a bathing suit. If you wear something, you'll get tan lines, and the suit will be at risk of staining, so consider carefully.

Overall, spray tanning booths provide safe and reliable tanning alternatives, and over time provide protection from the sun because they are stimulating the production of melanin. For a light-skinned person, or for tanning parts that have never seen the sun, airbrushed tans are a great choice.
